In a city known for their country music, there’s a small record label producing soulful gems under the name GED Soul Records. These guys are not your ordinary cookie-cutter soul act though. GED Soul Records is comprised of individuals just like us. They are working class people who are going from job to job to pay and support the art they love. They come from small towns but are full of big dreams. Their music is not about any baby mama drama or long lost love but rather the struggles in their everyday lives that we can all relate to. With strong vocals from DeRobert Adams, the band’s music is reminiscent of the 50’s and 60’s; full of emotions, heart and soul. We recently had a chance to chat with one of the co-founders of the label and Half-Truths member, Nick DeVan who talked about their most recent project, “I’m Tryin’” by DeRobert and the Half-Truths and the inspirations they come across.
