“Aimed at providing musical substance in a surface level industry, Strawberry Jam is an eclectic blend of live and electronic elements, the result being a soulful fusion that leaves one feeling satisfied. Horns, keys, vocals, guitars, synthesizers, drum machines, all blend together into sound reminiscent of the days when a song was an Experience–not just something you clean your house to. Bubbling with youthful optimism,”Lot More Livin” is a piece that looks towards the future and all that it holds. Here’s to life and another day.” – Strawberry Jam
Shut your eyes for just one second and pretend that it’s a warm summers day in Brooklyn and you’re lampin’ out on a stoop of an old apartment flat trimmed with red bricks as you’re fanning yourself with a paper plate you found lying around your kitchen. Your friends are hanging out with you, contemplating the day, but in slow motion, and all you can do is grin with eyes closed; smiling at the sun as a cool breeze lightly kisses your shoulders. At this very moment you understand that life is good, you are content and there is a lot to live for. This is how I would describe the new single “Lot More Livin'” by a new collaborative act, Strawberry Jam. It’s exceptionally chill like a tall glass of ice water in hot weather and leaves a silky-sweet aftertaste around the walls of all of your senses.
Strawberry Jam has already created a buzz with their sultry sound even after deciding to keep their identity hidden–for now. All I can really expose is that one member has toured with Prince and the other has provided vocals for a well-known Brooklyn R&B duo. In the meantime, the faces behind the group will remain blurred to keep the listeners intrigued and ultimately keeping us focused on their music and not their physical attributes.
