Channeling some of his biggest influences in music, Matt Stamm has come out with his 6th solo album entitled Lines and Waves. Recorded in his home studio and mastered at Room 17 in Brooklyn, Lines and Waves is a classic in the making. On this album, Stamm dabbles for the first time with cover songs and today, we have a premiere of a remake of the 1983 classic by the Naked Eyes, “Always Something There to Remind Me.
“This is the record I should have been making all along,” says Stamm, “and I am proud to say that I played every note – every sound you hear on it. It’s pretty amazing to see what comes out when you force yourself to push the boundaries of your creative abilities.” A very personal album, Stamm explains, “It’s about life, love, and the constant struggle to find happiness wherever you are., whatever you do.”
A veteran in the NY indie scene, Stamm continues to experiment with music whether it’s a collaborative effort as part of Erin Mary and The West Island, Neon Grovers or most recently, studio sessions with Brooklyn-based hip hop MC/producer, J57.
Lines and Waves is out today and available everywhere (including iTunes).
