Pittsburgh’s own Devin Miles has hit the ground running, capturing the interests of local ears and pens alike through his first single, “Came Up.” Having paid his dues to Philly’s local music scene, Devin is ready to release a full-length album called, Pixburgh, and we have our hands on the first single from it.
“No Different” is a little more jazzed-up than what we’re used to from the young MC, but the humble swagger still remains and laces the ivory keys on this Christo produced track quite nicely. Check out the track, and read a little more on what went into the track below:
“This record came about pretty randomly. One day I was In the lab with Christo and TreeJay, and I asked Christo if he had any cool or smooth shit. He played this beat and it instantly made me stand up. We were on this streak of making cool, chill shit so it really worked out perfectly. I had the idea that it’s like the Oceans 13 music and we just continued to develop the overall feel we were aiming for. I had TreeJay loop the hook, and the words for it just kinda spilled out. I definitely wanted to make something that people would be able to sing along to and feel good while doing so. Christo is one of the illest samplers out so that piano really spoke to me, especially because I am a pianist myself.”
