Montreal’s funky 90s-R&B-loving beats lord Kaytranada released a new edit today, flipping hip-hop jazz trio BADBADNOTGOOD’s “Kaleidoscope.” Fans of the band alike are anxiously awaiting for their forthcoming project with Ghostface Killah to be dropped, and we can be sure Kaytranada (and yours truly) is among that bunch. Kay takes “Kaleidoscope” and punctures it with his version of dancefloor gloom, transforming the song from the band’s usual dark theatrics into a bouncy version of itself complete with his signature high-hats and cascading melodies. Take a listen to the track for a nice hybrid of two of my personal favorite artists for a bit of music that compliment each other’s sounds and moods.
