We’ve been up on Boac’s game for quite some time now. From his early days in the SF underground hip hop scene, to his recent collaboration with Sunspot Jonz, Skywalkers, Boac’s been busy, busy, busy… He did, however, take a quick sojourn (about 45 seconds worth) to meet up with us a drop his take on the Kanye, Sir Paul, and Rihanna collab, albeit without Kanye. After dropping the track in our laps, producer Boac Jackson, gave us a quick 45 seconds to go with is latest drop, Four F1ve Seconds.
URB: So, what precipitated you to bring this track on over to us, and why strip out Kanye?
Boac: I heard the song on the radio as I was coming home from meeting Grumpy Cat- (true story) thought it was tight but had to have a remix. For some reason I just wanted to hear Rihanna only, no Kanye, who kinda reminded me of Grumpy Cat…
URB: What have you been up to, and is there anything we should be looking out for?
Boac: In 2014 I opened shows for Rusko, Pretty Lights Music (Eliot Lipp, Michal Menert) Prefuse 73 and more, and I have my debut album on Made In Glitch, as well as an upcoming group project with Bass Science
Speaking on behalf of Four F1ve, Boac takes his own brand of future bass/soul and marries it with Sir Paul and Rihanna’s offering of the Kanye collab. Meticulously mastered by the folks at A Different Fur Studios, helps to push the marriage of the sounds and textures further and giving it more shine than one would expect from a ‘soundcloud bootleg.’
With that, peep the track at the break.
