It’s a fantastic feat every time any one individual can create a body of art that is wholefully creative, thoughtful and ear-appeasing all at the same time; it’s a whole other feat when a singular person can do that nearly 15 times over throughout the course of seven years. But perhaps that’s what separates Georgia Anne Muldrow from the rest of the pack, a certified queen-of-all-things soul, funk, blues and jazz, oftentimes told within a hip-hop context. So it shouldn’t have been any kind of surprise when Muldrow announced her latest body of work— A Thoughtiverse Unamarred — to be a rap album, her first attempt following years of singing and producing. The project is set to be released on May 19, so until then peep our exclusive interview with Georgia, where we talked about the state of music, her inspiration and more.
