The 19th annual Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) has come to a close at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Every year, Insomniac finds a way one up the previous years and 2015 was right on track. As you walk in, it was apparent the entire festival was upgraded. In addition to the world class DJ lineup, this year included eight new mind-blowing stage designs, spectacular new art installations, vibrant theatrical performers and dazzling firework displays. Insomniac unveiled the brand new 480 feet wide, 100 feet tall kineticFIELD stage, drawing its design from the inspiration of the four elements – Earth, Fire, Water and Air. Funk House also made its debut, a 360-degree structure built from recycled materials dedicated to playing old school funk, disco and soul music.
The temperatures were exceedingly hot this year; hitting north of 110 degrees during the day. To combat the heatwave, Insomniac conveniently placed 152 free water access points as well as misting zones and an air conditioned room in the Ground Control Oasis. They also included food and beverage hub called Carnival Square.
