For fifteen years (2000-2014), my year-end Top 10 Albums list was published exclusively by the Philadelphia City Paper (RIP, 1981-2015). URB is its new home (at present).
2015 was a memorable year for music, but this is the digital age—hundreds of incredible songs, but as is the trend, the quality of actual full-length albums remains in decline.
There is no true No. 1 album of 2015, in my mock-humble opinion. Kendrick Lamar’s TPAB is the cross-genre critic consensus, but Pusha T’s late Q4 offering is trump-tighter, as far as hip-hop goes.
