We all knew it was coming — the venerable techno/off-techno institution built by Modeselektor known as 50WEAPONS is bowing out gracefully, currently in the midst of a world tour to celebrate its existence in the sphere of the electronic underground with a robust lineup to boot. Well, turns out they weren’t going to bring the B-team in NYC – because the dynamic duo didn’t just bring themselves to fill out the Brooklyn bastion of dance that is Output – but they brought the likes of Benjamin Damage, Truncate, and some guy named Shed.
Yes, he’s real and he’s in America after nearly a decade. More after the jump.
Simply put, missing someone as rare as Shed on a bill would be ludicrous, but this lineup is an exorbitant display of 50WEAPONS’ fervent hold of the techno world – as it meanders between melodic anthems via Benjamin Damage’s EPs and LPs on the label, as well some straightforward thump-and-bump, deep-dish Chicago track attacks via Truncate (who actually is from Los Angeles) and last but not least, the masterminds behind it all: Gernot and Szary aka Modeselektor.
This is a can’t-miss night of music at Output and we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you to buy any remaining tickets available, which will be available at the door tonight at Output. Down below are some reminders as to why tonight will be a special occasion.
See you there, kids.
